Sears, Penney make EPA list of top energy cutters

Sears and J.C. Penney were recently named runners-up in a contest sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency and aimed at identifying the commercial buildings that trimmed the most energy use over a 12-month period. Workers at a Sears store in Glen Burnie, Md., cut energy use 32%, and an Orange, Calif., Penney store cut 28% from its total use.
