City of Fayetteville’s Sustainability Coordinator John Coleman is encouraging local residents to conserve energy in their homes so dollars saved are spent in Fayetteville.
"The three things I talk about are weatherization, lighting, and having a heating and air-conditioning system tuned. You can get tax credits now from the federal government," Coleman said in a recent interview with the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (the official newspaper of The Living It Green Expo). He suggested using the Web site www.energystar.gov to find ways to save money. He is also encouraging local residents to call him for suggestions at (479) 575-8272.
The city is adding a new "green page," on www.accessfayetteville.org that will offer information about landscaping, weatherization and other efficiency measures.
